Iris' first track meet

After having been too late with sign ups last year, Iris finally is doing her favorite sport: track long distance running and cross country. This is her at her first meet.

Finally - our long awaited dog is born

Today our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy was born. We have been wishing for this little one to come for over a year - and are just so happy with his arrival. We wanted a puppy from the Oakhurst breeder and Tyko really wanted a male dog as he is "already surrounded by so many women all the time" ...
Here he is, surrounded by 2 toys 'siblings'.

Here is a picture of him at 3 days. His mother is unable to feed him breast milk at the third day. Probably because he is a singleton, which means he's the only one born in his 'nest'.

Today we saw so many animals: whales, sea lions, dolphins, different birds, a giant sea star - but new for us was a surfing dog :)

Opa and oma come over

This week Daan's parents "opa and oma" came over and we celebrated Iris' 12th birthday one more time by having a raclette dinner.

Iris turns 12! Oe-ah!!!

We started the party with some self-defense, something Iris has done this month and really enjoys.

Tyko basketball - game

 This was Tyko's first year for basketball and he's hooked on the sport: the speed and technique are just right for him. Now all he needs to do is grow - fast :)

Last game with Extra team Tyko

Today was the final game for Tyko in his current Extra team. He has had such an amazing good time with this team, most of whom he had for almost 2 years, that he was sad it was over. Everyone is now moving on to the next sport, some of us will return to the Extra soccer team next year and some won't.
